Wi-Fi is the most commonly used method for users to connect to the UC Berkeley network. Wi-Fi is provided throughout all campus buildings including most off-campus locations affiliated with the University.

If you are a visitor to campus who does not have a CalNet account, please see details of our Berkeley-Visitor service offering.

Wireless Networks

eduroam is the primary Wi-Fi network for use by students, faculty and staff. It provides a secure, authenticated connection with the best performance options available in your location. It is the best option for all laptops, desktops and smart devices.

Berkeley-IoT is provided as a Wi-Fi service for devices that are not able to connect to eduroam or are of a basic, automated nature. Commonly this service is best for things like streaming boxes, game consoles, some e-book readers and smart TVs. Compare Wi-Fi Options Campus Wi-Fi Map Wi-Fi Info for Students
