UC Berkeley offers wired (ethernet) connections to the campus network. These types of connections are typically used by campus departments for administrative uses or by research labs where dedicated, high speed network connectivity is required.
To access a wired network port your device's MAC address must be registered in the Information Security SocReg system. Once that is completed you can connect to most active wall-ports on campus.
- For more information about wired connections or if you need an ethernet port activated or a new one installed, please visit Campus Network Connection in the IT Service Hub.
Most users of the campus network should use eduroam, the Campus Wi-Fi service to access the network.
